Who spreads misleading health information

Use of health apps by diabetes patients linked to improved health, lower medical costs

Washington: Health apps have become a popular tool among teens and adults to track fitness, weight loss, sleep, and even menstrual cycles. But did you know mobile health applications could also benefit diabetes patients? A new study has found out that the use of health apps by diabetes patients could improve health outcomes and lower medical costs. The findings of the study will be published in the journal 'MIS Quarterly', a publication of the Management Information Systems Research Center. Emerging smart mobile health or mHealth technologies are changing the way patients track information related to diagnosed conditions. This study examined the health and economic impacts of mHealth technologies on the outcomes of diabetes patients in Asia. The study concluded that compared to patients who did not use mHealth applications, patients who used the apps had better health outcomes and were able to regulate their health behaviour more effectively. COVID-19 In Pittsburgh: Allegheny Co. Health Dept. Reports 224 New Coronavirus Cases, 2 Additional Deaths

By: KDKA-TV News Staff PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting 224 new Coronavirus cases and two additional deaths. READ MORE: Police: 9-Year-Old Placed Fake 911 Call About Active Shooter At Latrobe Elementary School Of the newly reported cases, 174 are confirmed from 1,065 PCR tests. There are 50 probable cases. The dates of positive tests range from Feb. 11-24. The Health Department says new cases range in age from 6 months to 91 years with a median age of 35. There have been 75,724 total cases and 5,090 total hospitalizations in Allegheny County since the outbreak began. Of the hospitalized patients, 911 have needed care in the ICU and 347 have been put on a ventilator. The county-wide death toll totals 1,654. The two newly-reported deaths include a patient in their 70s and a patient in their 80s. One of them is associated with a long-term care facility. The dates of deaths were recorded on Feb. 12 and 24. 13 Vietnamese COVID-19 patients in Cambodia in stable health conditions

Measuring body temperature of a Cambodia n man (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Thirteen Vietnamese people in Cambodia infected by SARS-CoV-2 in the latest outbreak in the country are in stable health conditions, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang. Hang said that Vietnamese representative offices in Cambodia have contacted local authorities and authorised offices to verify information about the cases and request attention and treatment for the patients to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens. Right after their infection was confirmed  the Vietnamese patients were brought to hospitals of the Cambodian Health Ministry in Phnom Penh capital city and Kandal province for quarantine and treatment.
