Ed Sheeran's manager told a court today how the singer clamped down on ticket touts after seeing £75 seats at his charity gig reselling for 'obscene' prices of £7,000. Stuart Camp was giving evidence as a prosecution witness in the trial of Peter Hunter and David Smith - who traded as Ticket Wiz and BZZ. They allegedly sold millions of pounds of tickets for top events harvested from official sellers using computer bots and fake identities. The pair deny fraudulent trading relating to tickets to see top acts like Sheeran, big sporting events, the Chelsea Flower Show and West End shows like Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. Mr Camp decided to try and stamp out the resale of Sheeran's concert tickets after they were resold for his March 2017 Royal Albert Hall gig in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. He said Sheeran performed at the event for nothing and the tickets were £75 plus a booking fee, but he saw some going for £7,000 on the secondary … [Read more...] about Ed Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp tells ticket tout trial that he took a stand against ‘absurd’ resale prices after spotting £75 charity gig seats on sale on Viagogo for £7,000

Nolte: Advance Ticket Sales Not ‘Overly Robust’ for ‘Rise of Skywalker’
Advance ticket sales for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are “not overly robust,” reports the far-left Deadline. As of now, the concluding chapter of the nine chapter Star Wars saga launched by George Lucas all the way back in 1977, is projected to open between $175 million and $205 million, depending on which source you look at. Regardless, it was not supposed to be like this. Let’s start with the math. Two years ago, The Last Jedi opened to $220 million,. Four years ago, The Force Awakens opened to $245 million. Now, you might look at those numbers and say, Hey, even $175 million is a boffo opening and pretty close to the others. Fair enough. There is not a person working in Hollywood who would not sell their own children to white slavers in exchange for a $175 million opening weekend. All true, and we cannot forget that. But… Let’s also not forget that The Rise of Skywalker is this franchise’s Avengers: Endgame… What I mean is that it … [Read more...] about Nolte: Advance Ticket Sales Not ‘Overly Robust’ for ‘Rise of Skywalker’
