Clark execs return SUVs, villas after COA order

· April 13, 2021 ·

CLARK FREEPORT—Clark Development Corp. president Manuel Gaerlan has ordered the recall of seven recently purchased sports utility vehicles issued to seven directors, which the Commission on Audit ordered to be taken back. In a statement on Tuesday (April 13), Gaerlan said the vehicles, all Isuzu MU-X which cost an average of P2 million each, will be “pooled for the use of the entire organization.” As for the nine villas ordered by COA to be vacated, he said “a majority of the board members signified intention to lease the houses themselves so they can continue to have a safe place to stay when in Clark.” Overpayments for the fuel expenses of two directors will be deducted from the next reimbursements, he said, adding that the state-owned firm would comply with Executive Order No. 24-2011 that sets the guidelines for compensation of directors of government corporations. According to Gaerlan, the COA auditor of CDC enjoyed the same privileges. Explaining the vehicles, he said … [Read more...] about Clark execs return SUVs, villas after COA order

With notes from Nick Saban, Charles Huff takes patient approach at Marshall

· April 13, 2021 ·

Charles Huff has no interest in wholesale changes at Marshall. The Thundering Herd's new coach didn't take the job at Marshall because it was a program in need of a massive overhaul. No, Marshall is fully capable of competing and winning championships. His predecessor, Doc Holliday , led the team to eight bowl games in 11 seasons. He was let go in January after being named Conference USA's coach of the year in a move that shocked many across college football. Huff, the former Alabama running backs coach and 247Sports' National Recruiter of the Year , rolled into Huntington with a clear vision but with the understanding he should not try to bull-doze players or staffers from the previous regime. Instead, the Maryland native asked questions and listened to those who best understand Marshall. "Tell me how Marshall has done it in the past, so that I have a little bit more education," Huff said. "That's not to say, well, we're gonna do the exact same thing but it's so I can … [Read more...] about With notes from Nick Saban, Charles Huff takes patient approach at Marshall

Nikki Grahame’s final Facebook post revealed as she told friends she was ‘all good’ before entering clinic for treatment

· April 12, 2021 ·

Nikki Grahame told friends she was "all good" just weeks before entering a specialist clinic for treatment for an eating disorder. On February 27, Nikki posted her last photograph - a vase of beautiful vibrant pink roses on a table in her home with the caption: "Thank you for the beautiful flowers" followed by emoticons of flowers and a smiley face covered with love hearts. She did not address who the flowers were from. Next to the vase of flowers was a book on one of her favourite musicians and singers, Kate Bush. Called Inside the Rainbow it's a collection of rare and unseen photographs of Kate with essays by her brother John Carder Bush about her life and music career. In a haunting last message from her when asked by a friend in the comments below the post on how she was doing, Nikki replied: "All good darling." Tragically Nikki lost her decades-long battle with anorexia in the early hours of last Friday morning. She was just 38. Just a few weeks after her … [Read more...] about Nikki Grahame’s final Facebook post revealed as she told friends she was ‘all good’ before entering clinic for treatment

Well done: but the real work starts now. You've got to sell the thing. App promotion is a tough gig, make no bones about it. It's become painfully clear that small indie devs, the lifeblood of iOS innovation, face a huge battle edging out the larger software companies and their swollen marketing budgets. (We discuss this in Why Apple should pay more attention to indie developers in the App Store .) But don't despair. Small app developers can make good money on the App Store, provided they've got a great app, a strong marketing … [Read more...] about How to sell my app
