Republican West Virginia Governor Jim Justice reproached other GOP governors' decisions to lift their statewide mask mandates, during a Sunday appearance on CBS News' Face the Nation . When asked by host Margaret Brennan about his opinion on other Republican governors deciding to lift statewide face mask mandates, Justice said: "I think that's ridiculous." "Nobody likes a mask. But, for crying out loud, we could be a little more prudent for 30 more days or 45 more days or whatever it took for us to get on rock-solid ground." CVS Scheduled 25,000 COVID Vaccine Appointments For Massachusetts Teachers In 3 Days
BOSTON (CBS) — Last week, CVS listed teachers as eligible for COVID vaccine appointments in Massachusetts. New numbers show educators in the state didn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity. A CVS spokesman tells WBZ-TV that the pharmacy chain scheduled about 25,000 appointments last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for those in Massachusetts who self-reported as a teacher. That represented 71% of all CVS vaccine appointments booked in the state over the three-day period. BOSTON (CBS) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 892 new confirmed COVID cases and 18 additional deaths in the state on Monday. Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 559,975 while the total number of deaths is 16,103.
