Hinting at an impending release of iPhone 5 and anticipating significant demand, Deutsche Telekom has begun to offer reservations for EU customers who are interested in purchasing the next-gen iPhone, whenever it is released. Bloomberg confirmed that Deutsche Telekom will hand out coupons starting today to reserve the iPhone 5, but didn’t provide any further release details on availability. Deutsche Telekom is Europes largest cellular carrier, and their USA subsidiary is T-Mobile, which has also been rumored to carry the next-gen iPhone. The news out of Europe comes a day after a report from BGR claims that US retailer Best Buy anticipates taking iPhone 5 pre-orders soon for a launch in the first week of October. An independent bookstore claims to be the only shop in the the UK offering two extremely rare Harry Potter first editions - but they will set fans back a staggering £107,500. St Mary’s Books in Stamford, Lincolnshire, is selling an original paperback edition and hardback version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The books, which are an "incredibly rare find", are believed to be the only two on sale in the whole of the country - with the only other paperback available in the USA. The first edition paperback, released in 1997, could once be bought for as little as £4.99 but is on sale at the antiquarian bookshop with the hefty price tag of £12,500. And the hardback edition released at the same time but with only 500 copies printed is for sale for a spellbinding £95,000 - working out to £426 per page. Today is April Fools Day in the USA, which makes the internet as a whole generally pretty ridiculous because there’s so many pranks with fake and silly news stories floating around. Keeping with the goofy spirit, here’s some easy and funny pranks to play on a fellow Mac user: Take a screenshot of the desktop and set it as the desktop background picture This is one of my favorites because it’s so easy and it causes so much confusion. Basically just put a ton of random icons, dock apps, or oddly named folders on the desktop, take a screenshot (Command+Shift+3) and then set that as the Mac’s desktop background. It sometimes helps to crop the menubar out of the picture, and of course then you move all the icons, folders, etc, off the desktop, and watch as the brunt of the joke clicks aimlessly on icons that don’t actually exist!
