Meghan Markle just wore a daring fashion item no other royal has stepped out in, EVER

· January 11, 2019 ·

January 11, 2019 - 08:56 GMT Laura Sutcliffe Meghan Markle looked stunning at the Smart Works HQ in London, wearing a black dress by Hatch, a camel coat by Oscar de la Renta and pair of edgy crawler style earrings by Kimai and priced at £315. No other royal has ever worn jewellery like this before. The Duchess of Sussex looked immaculate - and not to mention glowing - on Thursday as she stepped out at the Smart Works HQ in London.  The stunning wife of Prince Harry covered her growing baby bump a black dress by Hatch (which she first wore on a visit to King's College in 2018) a camel coat by Oscar de la Renta and jazzy, cow-print shoes by Gianvito Rossi. Meghan wore her trademark raven hair tied back in a sleek bun and we could clearly see her earrings which were extremely unique. Known as 'crawlers' or 'climbers' the £315 gems were by Kimai are very on-trend as they graduate up the ear, with a chain, giving the illusion that … [Read more...] about Meghan Markle just wore a daring fashion item no other royal has stepped out in, EVER

Kaepernick defiant about Dolphins hat

· July 6, 2013 ·

AP On Friday, photos emerged of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick wearing a Dolphins hat.  It created a stir on a fairly slow news day, but nothing all that major. And then Kaepernick decided to defiantly defend his decision to wear the hat, making a minor blip into a much bigger story. “ This the hat y’all mad at? ” Kaeperick said on his Instagram account.   “I’m goin wear what I want regardless of what you think, all you need to worry about is the fact that I grind for my teammates and the 49ers!  I plan on doin this until they won’t let me in the building!  #ridiculous#y’allmustbebored.” They’re not bored, Colin.  They’re fans. No true fan wants to see any member of the fan’s favorite team wearing another team’s colors.  And no true fan wants to be lectured by the player who commits one of the few cardinal sins of sports. In some cities with multiple pro sports teams, it’s bad enough for a player from one sport to wear the logo and colors of a rival team in a … [Read more...] about Kaepernick defiant about Dolphins hat

Kristof: America needs public toilets

· March 8, 2021 ·

Here’s a populist slogan for President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan: Pee for Free! Sure, we need investments to rebuild bridges, highways and, yes, electrical grids, but perhaps America’s most disgraceful infrastructure failing is its lack of public toilets. Greeks and Romans had public toilets more than 2,000 years ago, with people sitting on benches with holes to do their business. There were no partitions, and Romans wiped with sponges on sticks that were dipped in water and shared by all users. I’m not endorsing that arrangement, but at least the ancient Romans operated large numbers of public latrines, which is more than can be said of the United States today. Humorist Art Buchwald once recounted an increasingly desperate search for a toilet in Manhattan. He was turned down at an office building, a bookstore and a hotel, so he finally rushed into a bar and asked for a drink. “What kind of drink?” the bartender replied. “Who cares?” Buchwald answered. “Where’s the … [Read more...] about Kristof: America needs public toilets

STELA for Apple Arcade Review: The Perils of Polygonal Pauline

· November 4, 2019 ·

Source: SkyBox Labs At the beginning of Apple Arcade's STELA, your heroine wakes up in a dank cavern. This is basically the best thing that will happen to her for the rest of the game. She's wearing what looks like athleisure wear and a translucent half-cape, which, while certainly appropriate for all the cardio she'll be doing, seems wildly impractical for the hellish apocalypse she's about to jog through. But hey, considering the mind-boggling number of things that will almost immediately and then continuously attempt to kill her, she might as well look fashionable while she's dying over and over and over again. Skybox Labs ' STELA is basically a ripoff, at least in style, tone, and gameplay, of Playdead's acclaimed and creepy Inside . You've got haunting, decaying surroundings, a side-scrolling platformer enhanced by clever use of a moving, cinematic camera, lots of hiding from shadowy perils, and an enigmatic storyline that lets your imagination do all the heavy … [Read more...] about STELA for Apple Arcade Review: The Perils of Polygonal Pauline
