The story that's in the news goes like this. A man in Florida has a spat with his wife after a night out at home. The couple argue and fight and she is somehow "speared to the chest" during the altercation, as per a report by The Guardian (earlier reported by NBC News) and dies after heavily bleeding from the wound. The man is charged with second-degree murder but denies having killed her. There was no one else who saw or heard the whole thing while it happened. Or was there? There was someone, or rather something that may have heard it. We are talking about the Amazon Echo devices in the house which the police thinks may have listened to parts of altercation that may give a clue to the cause of the woman's death. UP electric buses can be tracked on Google map
Lucknow: Close to 130 routes on which electric buses will ply in 14 cities will be mapped on Google. This will help in better planning and management of the routes. The directorate of urban transport is getting the routes mapped by Remote Sensing Application Centre (RSAC), Lucknow. It would be possible to know of congestion and obstruction on routes through Google maps. Passengers would also be able to check traffic conditions on the routes. “Centre has given one year as the deadline to start operations of buses in the chosen cities. We have to get the needed infrastructure ready,” said joint director, urban transport, UP, Ajit Singh. A private firm has been awarded the contract to operate the buses in all 14 cities. The tendering process was approved by the state cabinet on Monday. A total of 700 electric buses would ply in 14 cities. UP would now work to get the funds sanctioned to create infrastructure which majorly includes creating charging sheds and depots. Internet speeds in India lag as global speeds increase by 21%: Report
NEW DELHI: Internet speeds in India Indian lag behind the world despite a 16.3% year-on-year increase in mobile and a 28.5% increase in fixed broadband speeds, according to the latest report by Ookla. The report highlighted that Singapore remains the fastest country with an increase in mean download speed over fixed broadband of 5.6% while 5G led South Korea saw a 165.9% YOY increase in mobile download speed. Meanwhile, the proportion of gigabit tests in Brazil increased 750% YOY In Asian countries, Japan was among the ‘Speed Leaders’, showing above-average mobile and fixed broadband speeds. On the other hand, South Asia countries including Afghanistan, India and Pakistan lagged in internet speeds. Dell introduces dedicated online channel for SMBs, startups
Bengaluru: Dell has introduced dedicated online portal for small and medium businesses (SMB) sector in India. The company is looking to tap more startups and small businesses with customised server solutions and computers from Dell EMC and Dell. Dell said it has been strengthening its presence in the SMB segment in the country and has now come up with a one-stop-shop for their technology needs. While Dell has invested significantly to create a seamless online direct sales mechanism, their purchase on the online channel will be guided by timely technology adoption advisory offered by Dell’s ‘Small Business Advisors.
