Simon Norris was staying at his friend’s home when the pair decided to sneak out and go for a drive. The 14-year-old, who his parents believe had never driven on a road before, pushed the car up the driveway with the help of his friend, also a youth. About 10 kilometres up the road the teen missed a corner on Mai Mai Valley Rd, near Reefton on the South Island’s West Coast, sending the car rolling down a bank about 8.35pm on Saturday.
