MILWAUKEE — The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. announced Thursday that going-out-of-business sales will begin Friday in 212 stores and e-commerce websites under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates.The sale includes local Carson's locations in Southlake Mall in Hobart, the Marquette Mall in Michigan City and in Hammond, where the three-story store is all that remains of the once-thriving but now largely demolished Woodmar Mall.The liquidation sales are expected to run for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. And he once wrote a script for a New Kids on the Block movie that never came to be. Those were some of the revelations in the loving but refreshingly loose and not-100%-reverent "PRN Alumni" panel at the University of Minnesota's "Prince from Minneapolis" symposium on Wednesday. Moderated by "Purple Rain" assistant director and tour manager Craig Rice, the candid discussion was put on in conjunction with the PRN Alumni Foundation, a charitable group of former Prince and Paisley Park employees, who are currently selling T-shirts to raise money for the ailing Rosie Gaines. The panel featured Prince's former wife and dancer Mayte Garcia for its main draw, but the real stars were some of the people who worked random jobs for him for many years, including his hilarious hairdresser Kim Berry. Her live streams on Facebook have up to 30,000 views, hundreds of comments, and customers seeking consultancy on products, of which more than a half then decide to buy. Since starting to do business in mother and baby products from home via Facebook in 2012, her shop’s fanpage “likes” have increased daily, reaching 110,000, with 14,000 on her private page. Traveling all over the country and overseas in search for human hair has earned hundreds of Vietnam’s poor farmers a fortune from a business that does not even require a marketing strategy due to ever-increasing demand. Buying hair is ridiculously simple. The buyer goes around with a speaker or microphone to let people know they are in the market for hair. If anyone wants to offer their hair, the buyer cuts it and bargains to get the best price. Nguyen Xuan Quang from Hong Da Commune in Phu Tho Province goes on regular “working trips” to the neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia to convince locals in remote areas to cut and sell their long hair. Each trip lasts about two months. “It is such an exciting experience. I can earn money and have a chance to stretch my horizons.
