Toronto police have discovered human remains linked to an incident in which officers shot and killed a man overnight Tuesday. Around 3:30 a.m., officers arrived at the apartment at 291 George Street , north of Dundas Street East, in search of a missing woman when the fatal shooting took place, according to police. Police said investigators have reason to believe another person “has died under suspicious circumstances” even though a body hasn’t been located. The homicide unit has taken over. “It is not yet known if it is the missing woman who the officers were initially searching for,” police said in a news release Wednesday. Police said the remains were found at a different location than the apartment but wouldn’t reveal where. More American consumers have turned to plant-based meat substitutes since the pandemic, and now some of the biggest fast-food chains in the US – including McDonald's — will source the products with producers. The popular plant-based meat alternative company Beyond Meat signed a new partnership with McDonald's last week, a vital step in the growing shift to take meat alternatives into the dining mainstream in the country. VIENTIANE, Laos: Two Singapore contingents have arrived in Laos to deliver humanitarian supplies for flood relief efforts in Attapeu province.
