Indivior to ‘vigorously defend’ Reckitt Benckiser’s US$1.4 billion claim

· November 30, 2020 ·

REUTERS: British drugmaker Indivior Plc said on Monday it would "vigorously defend" against a 1.07 billion pound (US$1.43 billion) legal claim from consumer good maker Reckitt Benckiser Group relating to their demerger agreement. The company "Strongly believes that the claim is without merit and that it has strong grounds for defending against the claim should it be served," said Indivior, which was spun off from Reckitt in 2014. Indivior said that the claim has not been served yet. Last week, the British drugmaker disclosed that Reckitt had submitted a 1.07 billion pound claim earlier this month to the Commercial Court in London against Indivior relating to their demerger agreement. · October 20, 2020 ·

The maker of top cleaning brands including Dettol and Cillit Bang, Reckitt Benckiser (RB), has reported a recovery in condom sales thanks to relaxed coronavirus restrictions. The FTSE 100 company, which has been among the few winners in the COVID-19 crisis to date thanks to its household hygiene and healthcare products, reported a 9.5% lift in net revenue to £3.5bn during its third quarter. RB said that was mainly driven by continued strong demand for disinfectants - with sales of Dettol-branded sprays, wipes and liquid up more than 50% on the same July-September period last year. Like-for-like sales were almost 20% higher in the company's hygiene business and 12.6% up in its health division, which includes Durex condoms and Mucinex cold medicine. RB had pointed to a sharp drop in demand for condoms during the spring virus lockdowns across Europe. Exclusive: Reckitt kicks off sale of some personal care brands – sources

· September 28, 2020 ·

LONDON/FRANKFURT: Consumer goods group Reckitt Benckiser Group is preparing to sell some of its non-core personal care brands, including Veet hair removal cream and Clearasil acne cream, four sources familiar with the matter said on Monday. The package of brands up for sale - which also includes E45 skin cream and Scholl foot products - could be worth as much as 1 billion pounds (US$1.3 billion) in a sale, two of the sources said, based on estimates of annual earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation north of 120 million pounds. The process comes as Reckitt is generating unusually strong sales in its hygiene business due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as people snap up its Lysol and Dettol disinfectants. It is also a strategic step for its new chief executive, Laxman Narasimhan, who has been in the top job for one year. Veet hair removal creams may also be seeing a boost, another source said, as people curb salon visits and do more grooming at home. Reckitt is … [Read more...] about Exclusive: Reckitt kicks off sale of some personal care brands – sources
