BOSTON (CBS) – A former middle school teacher in Hudson has been charged with sexually assaulting a student. Prosecutors say Caitlin Harding, 37, of Wellesley, assaulted a 13-year-old girl over several months in 2010. The girl was one of Harding’s students. Harding left the Hudson School District in 2013. Jewish Student Driven Out of Berlin School by Threats and Violence from Muslim Classmates
Beatings and abuse from Muslim classmates have been cited by the parents of a Jewish teenager as the reason they removed him from a leading Berlin school. The 14-year-old was born in London to a British mother and a German father. According to a report in the Sunday Times , the student was kicked and punched by students of Middle Eastern and Turkish origin so many times he was left fearing for his life. One of the attackers is alleged to have threatened to shoot him with a mock gun he believed was real. The Central Council of Jews in Germany described the bullying allegations at the Friedenauer Gemeinschaftsschule in Berlin as “anti-Semitism of the ugliest form.” The Times reports Ferdinand and his parents — Gemma, an entrepreneur from London, and Wenzel, a human rights organiser — chose a multicultural environment for their son’s schooling. Schools Urge Caution As Families Travel For April Vacation
BOSTON (CBS) – As if the pandemic wasn’t enough for traveling families, planes were being de-iced at Logan Airport with a chilly rain falling in mid-April. “It’ll be great to have the sun and relax,” said Halle Neeb traveling to Hilton Head for April school vacation week with her family. Many haven’t been on a plane in a year or more. Worcester Public Schools Urge Families To Replace Now-Recalled Verizon Hotspots Given To Students
WORCESTER (CBS) – The Verizon internet hotspots distributed to some Worcester Public School students have been recalled. The school district says the hotspots were give to students for remote learning. But Verizon has informed customers of the hotspots that the battery can overheat and potentially lead to a fire. FEMA Begins Vaccination Clinics In Fall River
FALL RIVER (CBS) – The city of Fall River has been one of the hardest areas in the state hit by the pandemic and now, more relief is on the way. FEMA vaccination clinics have begun a soft launch in Fall River. The city has been given 350 shots per day to start and is expected to ramp up to 3,500 per week.
