BEIJING: China has emphasised on the values of Asean and says it is looking forward to building an even closer Asean-China community with a shared future. Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the country would continue to support the region in the combat against Covid-19 by supplying vaccines to needy countries. He quoted a Confucius saying, “At 30, I have been well-established with principle” while reviewing the Asean-China ties as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. “After 30 years of weathering the storms together, we have built up a united, fair and supportive relationship. “China views importance to this cooperation, and will continue to prioritise Asean’s needs towards creating an even more splendid 30 years to come, ” he added. BEIJING (Xinhua): China on Monday (March 1) urged Australia to create favorable conditions for practical cooperation between the two countries. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin made the remarks at a press briefing in response to a query on a study conducted by an Australian institution that showed dwindling Chinese investment in Australia. China's direct investment in Australia fell by 61 percent to US$783 million in 2020, a record low in six years, according to the study by the East Asian Bureau of Economic Research, Australian National University. The figures can well reflect some real problems in China-Australia relations, Wang said. The essence of bilateral economic and trade cooperation is mutually beneficial and features win-win results, the spokesperson said.
