A banned dog may be put down after his "devoted" owner lost a court battle to save his life, despite a judge saying the pet had never shown any aggression. Jenner Stronge was convicted of possessing a prohibited pitbull-type dog called Bleu in January 2017, but was allowed to keep him with conditions including that he be kept on a lead and muzzled in public. But, in February 2018, Mr Stronge was sentenced for failing to keep Bleu on a lead and muzzled, and an immediate destruction order was made, with Mr Stronge banned from keeping a dog for five years. He failed to surrender Bleu as he was "desperate to save his dog from destruction". However the animal was later seized by the Metropolitan Police and held in private kennels awaiting the outcome of an appeal against his destruction. Four men have been jailed for life after plotting to murder a gang rival in a drive-by shooting. Dior Jackson, Ihsaan Bernard and Omarni Bernard-Sewell, all in their 20s, and Ayuub Mahmood, 19, had denied conspiring to murder Dante Mullings in May 2019. Mr Mullings, 23, was in a car parked by shops in Ladywood, Birmingham, when a gunman opened fire from a passing vehicle. At least eight shots were discharged from a pistol aimed out of the VW Passat's passenger window. Mr Mullings was struck three times and at least one bullet hit him in the lower back. Advertisement CCTV showed him sprint from the car and hurdle roadside barriers before collapsing seconds later due to internal injuries. Two other passengers also suffered gunshot wounds but survived the attack.
