3:09 p.m. Trump finally wears mask: President Trump, the nation’s foremost holdout on face coverings to prevent spread of the coronavirus, finally donned a navy blue face mask in front of cameras Saturday. Video showed the president and a clatch of military officials and aides, all in masks, striding purposefully through empty halls of Walter Reed military medical center where the president was to meet patients. Trump told reporters it was appropriate to wear a mask around surgery patients and injured soldiers — though health experts and government officials are telling the public to wear them as a general practice.
