(CBS DETROIT) – Weather permitting, Michigan Department of Transportation contract crews will be demolishing the Burns Street overpass above I-94 in Detroit this weekend. This work will require closing both directions of I-94 between I-75 and Conner Avenue starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26. All lanes of I-94 are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, March 1. CORONATION Street legend Eileen Derbyshire’s husband of 56 years has died after a long battle with Alzheimer's, her son has revealed. The 89-year-old star 's husband Thomas W. Holt sadly passed away last weekend with the couple's only son, Oliver Holt, by his bedside. Eileen – who has played Emily Bishop for 58 years – had been with the retired engineer since they met in early 1964, and the couple resided in a large cottage in Cheshire. Their son Oliver, who is a sports journalist, revealed his father's death as he wrote about their shared love of football in his column for Mail Online. He recalled how his beloved dad took him to his first game at Stockport County's Edgeley Park and said mourning him had made him realise what football really means to fans who have been unable to go to games as the coronavirus pandemic rumbles on. BOSTON (CBS) – Boston police and firefighters, including technical rescue crews, are on scene during an incident with critical injuries on Wednesday. The incident initially was reported as multiple people struck by a vehicle in the city’s Financial District. Several blocks around High Street were closed off around 8:30 a.m. Boston Police did not specify how many people were hurt, but said the incident involved life-threatening injuries. Crews appeared to be focused on a truck in what appeared to be a construction area. The truck is over a hole. Rescue crews on High Street in Boston. The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) plans to launch a State-wide protest if the issue of unauthorised street vending is not addressed at the earliest. At a protest against large-scale unauthorised street vending at West Hill here on Tuesday, KVVES district secretary K. Sethumadhavan said the vendors were monopolising streets in all parts of the State without trade licence or complying with the COVID-19 protocol while licensed vendors were bound to follow rules. The protest and the subsequent march from West Hill to Pavangad led to a minor tiff between the merchants and the police, which was brought under control after District Collector Seeram Sambasiva Rao intervened. “The authorities assured us that efforts would be made for an amicable solution to the issue through a meeting in which the representatives of street vendors will also take part,” said Mr. Sethumadhavan.
