MILLIONS of people on Universal Credit and other benefits are still missing out on a bonus worth up to £1,200 from the Help to Save scheme. As part of Help to Save , you get 50p for every £1 you set aside into a special account, up to a maximum bonus of £1,200 over four years. To get the maximum bonus, you would need to save £2,400 over the four years. Around 264,800 people have opened a Help to Save account since its launch in September 2018 , according to new figures released by the government today. It means millions of people are still missing out on opening an account and cashing in on the tax-free bonuses. When the Help to Save scheme first opened, more than 3.5million people were estimated to be eligible for an account. VietBank’s president has unexpectedly resigned and his position has been transferred to a former government official. VietBank's chair of the board of directors Bui Xuan Khu VietBank has announced that Duong Ngoc Hoa resigned from the post of chair of the board of directors on February 23 and the office has been taken by Bui Xuan Khu, who was Deputy Minister of Industry Trade. Khu became a member of the bank’s board of directors in 2011 after he retired. Later, he acted as deputy chair of the board of directors until he was appointed president of the bank. Khu is the next former high-ranking official to become a bank president. Le Thi Bang Tam, former Deputy Minister of Finance, is now president of HDBank and president of Vinamilk. LONDON: As the finance industry prepares for life post-pandemic, commercial banks are moving quickly to harness working from home to cut costs, while investment banks are keen to get traders and advisers back to the office. HSBC and Lloyds are getting rid of as much as 40 per cent of their office space as an easy way to make savings when bank profits have been crunched by the pandemic. But there are concerns that remote working does not benefit everyone. Junior staff members miss out on socialising and learning opportunities and there are also risks home working can entrench gender inequality. At investment banks, where long hours in the office were the norm pre-pandemic, bosses say they want most people back where they can see them. SINGAPORE: It has been said that cybersecurity is like an arms race, with both sides constantly evolving their weapons and defences. On one side are the keepers of data and information, and on the other are the cyber criminals who want to steal and profit from that information. WHAT’S THE COST? In one of the largest data heists in history, it came to light in November that the data of 500 million customers of the Marriott hotel group had been stolen . Earlier last year, cyber criminals took the records of some 145 million customers of credit-reporting agency Equifax. In Singapore, the information of 1.5 million healthcare patients, including those of the Prime Minister, were stolen .
