Here's a headscratcher. If Danny Baker was MORE of a racist, would he get away with it? If the Radio 5 Live DJ had done something more than liken a mixed-race Royal to a chimpanzee - start a political party, build a wall, scream anti-Muslim rhetoric at a Parliamentary rally - he'd be given more attention, not less of it. Black celebrities could tweet their disgust, and it would make not a jot of difference to the attention given. He'd be invited on to Andrew Marr. He'd be asked to give us his reasons on Question Time. He'd get followers, too, as whatever mad things he came out with infected others who were ripe to be hooked. He still wouldn't have a job at the BBC, of course. That still wouldn't look right. But they'd have let him go politely, talking about the need for an apolitical image among Auntie's representatives, rather than issue a statement saying he "goes against the values we as a station aim to embody". And money would come his way. From online crowdfunders, … [Read more...] about If Danny Baker was more of a racist, would he get away with it?

Nigel Farage has moaned he had to "fight" to get on Question Time because the BBC wanted a woman instead. The Brexit Party leader made his 33rd appearance on the show last Thursday, where he turned heads with a furious spat with Change UK MP Anna Soubry. Critics say Farage has been overexposed on the flagship panel show since he shot to prominence more than a decade ago. Yet today he moaned he had to push out a female member of his party from appearing because "I'm the founder of this" and he wanted to appear himself. Mr Farage claimed he had to "battle like crazy" because "the BBC now have to gender balance everything." He added: "I'm all for equal opportunities but it did strike me as being bizarre." "It wasn't confirmed until Wednesday that I'd be on, because they wanted to have a woman for gender balance," he complained to radio station LBC. "Fine, we've got some great women, we can give you Ann Widdecombe or Claire Fox. We've got some wonderful women standing for us. "But … [Read more...] about Question Time: Nigel Farage moans he had to ‘fight’ to get on instead of a woman

Jesus made it very clear that His disciples are not of this world, even as He was not of this world. And we all know that po-liticking is of the world, and it is not of God but of the devil, who is the prince of this world and its vain-glories. Jesus Christ resist-ed every temptation of the devil, to entice Him with the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them—Matthew 4:8-10. Jesus also resisted every attempt by the people to make Him a king by force—John 6:15. In Judges 9:7-15, Joth-am, one of the sons of Gid-eon, spake this parable: “The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us. But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my … [Read more...] about Should men of God entangle themselves in politics?
It is not a great time to be a Conservative party candidate for the European Parliament. Senior members of your party are basically saying the party need to do a cross-over episode with Nigel Farage or you'll get ganked . You lost over 1,300 councillors in the local elections and you've slumped to fifth in the polls . And on top of all of that, not even good old Ann Widdecombe trusts you anymore. So it probably doesn't help your mood much to hear that Party Chairman Brandon Lewis think you have absolutely no chance of getting elected on May 23. According to reports in The Telegraph Mr Lewis has told candidates the best they can hope for is raising their profile ahead of the next elections. Mr Lewis reportedly told candidates that if “you are not an MEP already you aren't winning and added that the “chances of somebody further down the list getting elected are pretty slim". Well maybe it isn't surprising the party have refused to launch a national campaign and are … [Read more...] about Tory Party Chief Brandon Lewis ‘tells MEP candidates they will not get elected’
