Fourth CIIE to set up biomedicine section for the first time

Video Player Close SHANGHAI, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will set up a special section for biomedical products for the first time, the organizer said on Thursday. The new section, situated inside the Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products Exhibition Hall, will not only help industry leaders to showcase new products and promote cooperation, but also enable domestic institutions to learn about cutting-edge technologies and industry trends, according to Liu Fuxue, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau. During the 3rd CIIE, the Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products Exhibition Hall covered an area of 69,000 square meters, with more than 120 new products and technologies debuted. The CIIE is the first dedicated import exhibition in the world and has seen fruitful outcomes in the past three expos. Positive cues from China cheer Indian steel companies

Barring last year when Covid-related restrictions affected China's steel demand in February 2020, historical trends show a typical upward movement in steel prices post-New Year festivities. Positive cues from China – which accounts for 56.5 per cent of global crude steel production – are likely to keep demand-supply in balance and provide support to prices. All eyes have been on China, which opened after New Year holidays, as it was widely expected that prices would recover post-holidays after the weakness in January. Jayanta Roy, senior vice president, ICRA pointed out, barring last year when Covid-related restrictions affected China's steel demand in February 2020, historical trends show a typical upward movement in steel prices post-new year festivities.
