The action was carried out at the headquarters of the commission,located at the Maitama highbrow area of Abuja,the nation’s federal capital city. The NLC accuses the CAC leadership of clamping down on members of the union,who are opposed to CAC’s anti-workers’ policies. Mars ‘Virtual Tour’ Gives 360 View of Planet From NASA’s Perseverance Rover
A videographer who specializes in 360-degree imagery is helping people to explore the surface of Mars. Hugh Hou , founder of the YouTube channel CreatorUp , shared an interactive video to his Facebook account on Tuesday. His "virtual tour" of the Red Planet's barren exterior has since been shared more than 1.2 million times. The panorama image that Hou used to create the 360-degree tour was released by NASA 's Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Monday. It was taken on February 20 by navigational cameras on the Perseverance rover, which had landed on Mars two days earlier, and "stitched together" from six images after they were sent back to Earth, the space agency said. The sky in Hou's tour has been edited to show it full of stars, so the experience works better on virtual reality headsets, he wrote in a disclaimer on Facebook. The NHS is facing a legal challenge over its data deal with controversial Silicon Valley firm Palantir, Sky News can reveal. Palantir, which has become notorious for its close ties to security services and immigration agencies in the United States, secured its first ever deal to handle NHS data in March last year for the nominal sum of £1. Round one of CRISPR patent legal battle goes to the Broad Institute
By Jon Cohen Feb. 15, 2017 , 2:30 PM The U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled today in favor of the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the initial legal step of a high stakes battle over who will control the valuable intellectual property linked to CRISPR, the powerful genome-editing tool. The decision may be appealed by the University of California (UC) , however, which last year requested the “interference” from the patent board because it contends that a team of scientists it represented invented the technology and that the Broad researchers piggybacked on their discovery. The patent board decision declared “Broad has persuaded us that the parties claim patentably distinct subject matter, rebutting the presumption created by declaration of this interference." Well, today the biggest problems we are facing are those being addressed in the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ), designed to help end poverty and protect the environment, set by the United Nations in 2015 to be met by 2030.
