Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has requested the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and relevant bodies to strengthen strict management on the price of milk products for children under the age of six. The directive was submitted at the government’s regular meeting in April last week with the aim to stabilise prices on milk products for children. The MoF’s new regulations have appeared within the context of several milk producers evading the ministry’s previous decision last year to apply a price ceiling on milk products for children under six. Two weeks ago, the MoF proposed that the government apply a price ceiling on different milk products for this age group of children by the end of 2016. Cooperation For The Best Nutrition Products By Khang Minh Early this month, Vietnam Dairy Products Company (Vinamilk) and three foreign partners – DSM, Lonza (Switzerland) and Chris Hansen (Denmark) – inked an agreement for cooperation in research and application of nutrition science in developing nutrition products for Vietnamese children. The agreement is the first move to implement the company’s strategy to improve the quality and effectiveness of its products. Under the agreement, Vinamilk and its foreign partners will cooperate in exchanging market information, research and development (R&D) of nutrition products suitable for Vietnamese infants, clinical assessment of products and laboratory establishment, training of R&D experts, and use of trademark ingredients.
