Bernie McGee Dies: ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Star Was 41

Bernie McGee , star of the TLC reality series Seeking Sister Wife , has died from heat stroke and a heart attack. He was age 41. “Our hearts go out to the McGee family following the loss of husband and father Bernie McGee,” TLC wrote in an online tribute Monday. “Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.” [McGee is shown above with his wife] According to his wife Paige McGee, Bernie was out riding his bike when he called to say he wasn’t feeling well. He was taken to St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where he died on Saturday, June 15. A GoFundMe page was set up on June 16 to assist the family after Bernie’s sudden death. The fundraising page said the family recently lost everything in a house fire: “They were just beginning to get everything back together again. Baseball – Hall of Fame Tigers outfielder Al Kaline dies aged 85

REUTERS: Baseball Hall of Famer Al Kaline, one of the most beloved and distinguished players of his era who spent his entire 22-year Major League Baseball career with the Detroit Tigers, died on Monday, aged 85, the team said. Known affectionately as "Mr. Tiger," Kaline was one of the most consistent players and retired not long after he became only the 12th player to reach MLB's elite 3,000-hit club. Kaline, beloved by generations of fans, spent 26 seasons after his retirement providing color commentary for the team's TV broadcasts and the last 18 years in the front office as a special assistant and adviser to the club's senior management. "It is with heavy hearts that the Detroit Tigers confirm Al Kaline has passed away at the age of 85," the Tigers said in a statement. "One of the most distinguished and decorated players in the history of baseball, 'Mr. Tiger' was one of the greatest to ever wear the Olde English 'D'." James Bond actress who played Pussy Galore dies at 94

British actress Honor Blackman, who was best known for playing Bond girl Pussy Galore, has died at the age of 94, her family said on Monday (Apr 6). Blackman died of natural causes at her home in Sussex, southern England the family said in a statement to the Guardian newspaper. "As well as being a much-adored mother and grandmother, Honor was an actor of hugely prolific creative talent; with an extraordinary combination of beauty, brains and physical prowess, along with her unique voice and a dedicated work ethic," the statement said. "She achieved an unparalleled iconic status in the world of film and entertainment and with absolute commitment to her craft and total professionalism in all her endeavours she contributed to some of the great films and theatre productions of our times," it said. Man City coach Guardiola’s mother dies after coronavirus infection

BARCELONA: The mother of Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has died after being diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, the English Premier League champions said on Monday. "The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep's mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting coronavirus. She was 82-years-old," City said in a post on their official Twitter account. "Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends." Guardiola, who has also coached Barcelona and Bayern Munich and spent most of his playing career with Barca, donated one million euros (US$1.08 million) last month to fight against the virus, contributing to a campaign launched by the Angel Soler Daniel Foundation and Medical College of Barcelona. ‘Some of us will die’: India’s homeless stranded by COVID-19 lockdown

NEW DELHI: In a densely packed neighbourhood of Delhi, hundreds of homeless people queued up this week as volunteers doled out rice and peas from a vat in the back of a van. Only a handful of the people in the crowd wore masks. There were no hand sanitizers or wash basins in sight and no social distancing. "I need the food," said a man in the queue, Shiv Kumar. "If I stand apart, someone else might come in between." Volunteers say such scenes are playing out daily across India, as labourers and waste pickers - most of them homeless or too poor to afford a meal - are among the hardest hit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three-week nationwide lockdown to stem the spread of coronavirus.
