Dispute: Obasanjo’s name not used for transactions — Land owners

Kindly Share This Story: WINNERS’ Chapel (World Mission Agency), yesterday, denied using former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s name or his associate for any transaction or harassment of innocent citizens on its 166 acres of land that was properly acquired from landowners at Feru community of Iyana-Iyesi area of Ota, in the Ado-Odo-Ota local government area of Ogun State. In a statement by the landowners, Augustine Omilelewe (Ikibawo) and Rasheed Dada (Feru), the consultant who facilitated the purchase, Nurudeen Adeoye and World Mission Agency and lawyer, Pastor Felix Agbanwu, after a meeting in Ota, following alleged name-dropping and land grabbing accusations leveled against Abraham Akanle. Vatican cancels public participation at pope’s Easter events due to COVID-19

VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis' Holy Week and Easter services, which normally draw tens of thousands of people, will be held without the public attending because of the coronavirus outbreak, a step believed to be unprecedented in modern times. It was not clear how the massive events will be scaled down but sources said officials were studying ways to hold them in indoor locations, including St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, with small representative groups attending. A note on the website of the Vatican department that organises papal events also said that until Easter Sunday on Apr 12, his general audiences and Sunday blessings would continue to be seen over the internet and television without public participation. ‘Moment of truth’: Buttigieg drops out of Democratic race two days before Super Tuesday

SELMA, Alabama: Pete Buttigieg dropped out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination on Sunday (Mar 1), saying he no longer saw a chance of winning, the day after fellow moderate Joe Biden won a big victory in South Carolina. The move shook up the Democratic contest to pick a candidate to take on Republican President Donald Trump in November's election and came two days before the 14-state Super Tuesday nominating contests that will offer the biggest electoral prize so far. Buttigieg, a 38-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who gained early momentum after he narrowly won the Iowa caucuses last month and finished a close second in New Hampshire, had sought to unite Democrats, independents and moderate Republican voters.
