While many political outfits have extended their support for the cause, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stated that it will take a call on the matter after receiving a formal letter from the propagators. 2021 marks the 10th year of Pune Pride Parade. The parade is set to take place in March/April. Financial security scam casePimpri police slap cheating charges against accused for submitting fake FDRs After it was revealed in December last year that a handful of civil contractors had allegedly produced fake bank guarantees and fixed deposit receipts (FDRs) to secure contracts for various developmental works from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), the civic body has now filed a first information report (FIR) against five contractors for the said irregularities in documentations. The contractors in question have already been blacklisted by the local body. No arrest has, however, been made so far, informed the police. It took over a month for the civic body to initiate criminal action against the alleged guilty parties. In December 2020, PCMC civic chief Shravan Hardikar had instructed respective department heads to blacklist 18 contractors for submitting fake FDRs and initiate action against them.
