Gerald Anderson. Image: Instagram/@andersongeraldjr When it comes to his love life, Gerald Anderson still does not want to say much, but is candid about what he wants from a relationship in the future. The “A Soldier’s Heart” star was put on the hot seat in actor Joe Vargas’s vlog posted last Tuesday, Feb. 16. Vargas asked Anderson personal questions which he had to answer if he missed a basketball shot. Anderson was game to answer questions even when he made his shots, save for the question “Taken ka ba ngayon (Are you taken right now)?” For this one, he preferred to stay silent. However, when asked about plans to get married, he deliberately threw away his shot. “Siyempre naman! Iyon iyong next chapter ng buhay natin,” he said. “Inaayos natin lahat iyan.” (Of course! That is the next chapter of our lives. We are working on it.) Asked if he has a child, Anderson got his free throw shot in but still answered the question: “Wala pa pero sana soon (None but I hope I … [Read more...] about Gerald Anderson won’t say if he’s ‘taken’ but looks forward to marriage

The 2nd coming of Carlo Aquino
Aquino (center) with Star Magic talents, from left: Matt Evans, Kitkat, Ejay Falcon, Jane Oineza, Ria Atayde, Hashtag Ryle Santiago and Alex Castro This much is true: Carlo Aquino is good even when some of his films don’t turn out to be as satisfying as his performances. Certainly, it would be foolhardy for his naysayers to throw shade at the seven-time Urian nominee’s skill as an actor, whose accomplishments include award-worthy portrayals in “Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa?,” “Throwback Today,” “Dyamper,” “Porno” and “Bar Boys.” Ignore the romance-related intrigues thrown his way. After all, they’re par for the course in the life and career of the 33-year-old former child actor, who has lately been enjoying a career resurgence of sorts Carlo Aquino “Gallen” started the actor’s current run as one of mainstream cinema’s most in-demand screen consorts. “Sobrang nakaka-overwhelm,” Carlo said when we met him for this one-on-one interview. “It did start with ‘Gallen,’ followed … [Read more...] about The 2nd coming of Carlo Aquino
Bea Alonzo, ‘ambassador of ghosting,’ gives tips on moving on
Bea Alonzo. Image: Instagram/@beaalonzo Bea Alonzo gave her insights on moving on in a recent vlog, where her friends Angel Locsin and Neil Arce asked her for advice about being ghosted. The actress described herself as the “ambassador of ghosting” and dished advice based on her personal experience, as seen in the couple’s video posted on Thursday, Oct. 29. Locsin and Arce gave tips for moving on that they found online and asked Alonzo to weigh in on them. They also greeted her a “happy anniversary” — it has been over a year after her split with actor Gerald Anderson. “You know I can’t believe [that] after a year, pagtatatawanan na lang natin (we would just laugh about this),” the “One More Chance” star said. The first tip was to post on social media so that the other person can see it. Alonzo disagreed, stating that what you post should be for you. “Iniisip mo pa rin siya, ibig sabihin hindi mo binibigyan ang sarili mo ng room to move on. Nabubuhay ka rin para sa … [Read more...] about Bea Alonzo, ‘ambassador of ghosting,’ gives tips on moving on
Easily Add Line Numbers to a Text File with the Command Line
Brian asks: “I need to add line numbers to a text file. I don’t mean line numbers in the text editor, I mean adding a number next to each item inside a text file. Is this possible to automate or do I have to manually edit the file typing 1, 2, 3 and going insane?” Yes, you can easily hardcode line numbers into a text file… we’ll show you exactly how to do it! To be completely clear, what this is going to do is add a counting line number to the left side of each new line of text, prefixing each line with the appropriate corresponding number. This hard codes it into the text file, which means it’s different from simply showing line numbers in an app like TextWrangler, VIM, or BBEdit. To get started, get to the Terminal and you’ll want to do the following at the command line prompt: Using cat to Add Line Numbers to a Text File This is by far the easiest method: cat -n file > file_new Simply replace “file” with the file name you want to add line numbers to, and change … [Read more...] about Easily Add Line Numbers to a Text File with the Command Line
Plastic bags and products still plague Hanoi
The use of plastic bags and products in traditional markets and shops continues to plague Hanoi. Household waste, stored in plastic bags, is piled in Hoang Van Thai Street, Hanoi. Phạm Huy, a small trader in a traditional market in Long Biên District, said plastic bags and products were selling in large quantities in local markets because they were not only cheap but also convenient. It costs VNĐ30,000 (US$1.3) per roll of 100 plastics bags and VNĐ20,000 ($0.8) for 50 plastic cups, he said. Huy said the number of people shopping at the market was very large and most of them asked for plastic bags. Few people carried their own bags to the market. “If we do not use plastic bags, we have nothing to store things for our customers,” he said. An owner of a food shop in Quán Thánh Street, Ba Đình District, said his customers often asked for takeaway food in plastic containers. Although he knew of the impacts of plastic bags and products on the … [Read more...] about Plastic bags and products still plague Hanoi
