Redemption for England women as they finally secure an Ashes victory over Australia… but lose the series 12-4

· July 31, 2019 ·

England (139-5) beat Australia (122-8) by 17 runs - Australia win the Ashes 12-4 R edemption, resurrection or just saving face - it doesn’t matter what you call it or how it comes, because England have done it, they have beaten Australia. It may be too little too late for anything meaningful in the context of the Ashes series but here at least is a small moment of joy in what has been a very difficult summer for Heather Knight’s team. As Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry boomed around the stadium, the crowd truly surged for perhaps the first time this series. They still believed, and perhaps that was all England needed all along: "feeling inspired 'cause the tables (finally) have turned." In Mady Villiers England may have found the all-round athlete coach Mark Robinson has been looking for. The young off-spinner held her nerve on her debut bout to remove Australia’s most explosive batters, Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner, the latter for a golden duck and both within the same … [Read more...] about Redemption for England women as they finally secure an Ashes victory over Australia… but lose the series 12-4

· April 6, 2021 ·

Married At First Sight Australia star Lauren Huntriss has been considering using a sperm donor to get pregnant. The 34-year-old , who famously married virgin Matthew Bennet, asked her fans advice on how to start looking for a donor. “OK serious question/s about babies. Have any of you gone through the process of finding a donor?” she asked her Instagram followers. “Was it successful for you? Do you have any regrets? Would you recommend other women to consider this option?” She continued: “I turned 34 yesterday and my biggest fear is to be an old mum who can't keep up energetically. I'm already tired. A lot of her fans told the reality star not to worry as she still has time to have children naturally. Responding to those fans, Lauren said: “To all the people telling me I have plenty of time don’t stress…” before adding a screengrab of an article about fertility. It read: “Women lose eggs each month - about a thousand a month after puberty - and by age 35 have … [Read more...] about Married At First Sight Australia star Lauren Huntriss looking for sperm donor

Lorenzana, Austin discuss Felipe Reef situation in phone conversation

· April 12, 2021 ·

AND THEN THERE ARE 28 Philippine military officials say only 28 of the more than 200 Chinese fishing vessels—here seen up close in a satellite image—remained anchored at Julian Felipe Reef, which China calls Whitsun Reef, as of Sunday. —REUTERS MANILA, Philippines — Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and his US counterpart Lloyd Austin III discussed on Sunday the fleet of Chinese ships still anchored at Julian Felipe Reef in the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone since early March when they were first spotted there. The two officials made their phone call ahead of Monday’s resumption of the Balikatan joint exercises between the American and Philippine military, which was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But even before the pandemic, President Duterte, who had been critical of Washington’s stand against his drug war policy, had been ambivalent about the conduct of joint military exercises under the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), which provides the legal … [Read more...] about Lorenzana, Austin discuss Felipe Reef situation in phone conversation

PH summons China’s envoy over ‘illegal presence’ of Chinese ships in WPS reef

· April 13, 2021 ·

Around 220 Chinese militia vessels were spotted moored at Julian Felipe Reef (Whitsun) in the West Philippine Sea last March 7, 2021. (NTF WPS) MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has summoned China’s ambassador the Philippines to express “utmost displeasure” over the illegal, lingering presence of Chinese vessels in Julian Felipe Reef in the West Philippine Sea. The DFA, in a statement Tuesday, said Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian was summoned on Monday, April 12, and was informed that the reef lies within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone, contrary to the repeated claims of Beijing. China has repeatedly claimed the reef as part of Nansha Qundao, one of two political districts in the South China Sea established by the Chinese government in 2020, which the Philippines also previously protested. “The continuing presence of Chinese vessels around the reef is a source of regional tension,” the DFA said. ‘Time to go’: Only 9 Chinese ships left in WPS reef, says Locsin

· April 13, 2021 ·

MANILA, Philippines — Only 9 of over 200 Chinese ships remain at the Julian Felipe Reef in the West Philippines Sea, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said as his department summoned China’s ambassador to the Philippines over the issue. “NTF just informed. Only 9 ships left,” Locsin said on Twitter Tuesday. He was referring to the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS). Last Mar. 7, the Philippine Coast Guard reported 220 vessels staying at the reef. On Mar. 22, the Philippine military counted at least 183 Chinese ships. Eventually, the military reported, over the weekend, that only 28 Chinese vessels remain stationed around the area. “Come, come, time to go. As I said, while it may well be traditional fishing grounds, tradition yields to law and the law on the matter is UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea) and The Arbitral Award and the common rules of statutory construction,” Locsin said in another tweet. NTF just … [Read more...] about ‘Time to go’: Only 9 Chinese ships left in WPS reef, says Locsin
