In a top level administrative shake up, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the elevation of two senior IAS officers posted as collectors of Chittoor and Guntur districts following a State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar diktat to relieve the two officers with immediate effect. The State Election Commission (SEC) last week sought immediate shifting of Chittoor district collector Narayan Bharat Gupta and Guntur district collector Samuel Anand Kumar. The SEC had asked the state government to hand over the charge to respective joint collectors. Accordingly, the IAS officers have reported to the state government.The state government has appointed Narayan Bharat Gupta as managing director, Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL). United Spirits sees rebound, net down 11%
BENGALURU: United Spirits reported a net profit of Rs 230 crore in the third quarter, down 11% from the year-ago period, as consumers continued to be wary of visiting pubs, bars and restaurants. Net sales declined 3.6%, an improvement compared to the 6.6% drop in the second quarter.“Third quarter reflects improving consumer sentiment, notwithstanding on-premise footfalls still being low, the route to market change in Andhra Pradesh and taxation-led price hikes post-Covid,” CEO Anand Kripalu said.“Despite a quicker rebound than originally expected, in the near term there are still reasons to remain cautious and, consequently, the company is not providing quantitative guidance for FY21,” Kripalu added.
