· March 3, 2021 ·

I’m someone who enjoys stretching my dollars and making the most of my spending. I always try to go for the best savings accounts, opt for the cheapest mobile plan, and look for ways to get rewards for the bills that I pay. It was only not long ago that I started getting my insurance needs sorted. Yeah, part and parcel of adulting. With my new insurance policies, I now have another recurring bill to pay every year. A bill that is not that small as well. Which is why it makes me even more eager to find a suitable credit card to pay for this bill. Stimulus Check Update: When Could Another Economic Relief Payment Arrive?

· March 2, 2021 ·

( CBS Detroit ) — A third stimulus check is likely pending. The $1,400 direct payment is a critical part of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion economic relief package, which aims to ease the economic fallout from COVID and set the economy on better footing. It has support from both Democrats and Republicans and looks destined to end up in the American Rescue Plan’s final version. The broader package also includes higher unemployment benefits, an improved child tax credit, and much more. While a third check seems destined for bank accounts, the specific timeline is still up in the air. When Could My Stimulus Check Arrive? The administration remains focused on signing the American Rescue Plan into law by March 14 . That is the day when the current $300 federal unemployment benefit bonus expires. Assuming President Biden can sign the relief package on March 14, direct deposits would likely start the week of March 22, with checks beginning to arrive the week of March 29. Progressives Push for Monthly Stimulus Checks as Joe Manchin Aims to Limit $1,400 Payments

· March 2, 2021 ·

As Senator Joe Manchin , a West Virginia Democrat, and moderate Republicans continue to push for limiting the income threshold for who can receive $1,400 stimulus checks, progressive Democrats are urging President Joe Biden to push for recurring monthly payments. Manchin and moderate Republicans have argued that the direct stimulus payments to be included in a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill—dubbed the American Rescue Plan—should be more targeted by reducing the income threshold, and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki indicated in an interview with Fox News Sunday that Biden is open to the proposal. But Senator Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, has spearheaded an open letter signed by nine other senators calling on the president to put forward recurring payments in his upcoming Build Back Better initiative. Biden was initially expected to unveil the Build Back Better recovery plan—which is expected to be heavily focused on infrastructure funding—in February.
