The start of the first half was evenly contested and saw no breakthroughs, but later on, forward Tran Danh Trung opened the score for Vietnam in the 41st minute. Entering the second half, he went on an amazing run before scoring from distance, doubling Vietnam’s lead in 62nd minute. After that, Vietnam launched various attacks while their rivals showed signs of physical deterioration. With individual skills, midfielder Phan Thanh Hau brought the score to 3-0 for Vietnam in the 82nd minute. Cherry blossom viewing festival opens in Hoi An city
A corner of Hoi An (Illustrative image: hoianimpression.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – A cherry blossom viewing festival opened at the Hoi An Impression Theme Park in Hoi An ancient city of the central province of Quang Nam on February 19. Aside from flower viewing, the three-day festival offers numerous activities to visitors, such as lanterns making, calligraphy and folk games. Local specialties, including sweet desserts, are also served at the festival. Especially, a large-scale outdoor visual art show entitled “Hoi An Memories” will take place at 7.30pm each night. Hoi An is acclaimed most for its centuries-old ambience, homes and streets, its rich culture and delicious cuisine, according to the international magazine Better Homes and Gardens. Tulip festival in Ba Na Hill sets Guinness Vietnam Record
More than 15 world-famous varieties of tulips are on display at the event (Source: banahills.sunworld.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – The ongoing tulip festival at the Sun World Ba Na Hills tourism complex in the central coastal city of Da Nang has been recognized by the Guinness Vietnam Record as the biggest of its kind in Vietnam. Taking place from February 14 to March 31, the festival with theme "Land of Colourful Flowers" has turned the area into a little "Netherlands” with over 1 million bulbs, along with special art performances. More than 15 world-famous varieties of tulips are on display at the event. The flowers have been imported directly from the Netherlands and grown in the Central Highland city of Da Lat, which has ideal weather conditions for tulips. Decree revises list of citizens eligible for e-visas
Foreigners in Vietnam (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Government recently issued a decree on amending and supplementing the list of foreign citizens eligible for e-visas and border gates that allow immigration by e-visas. Under Decree No.7/2017/ND-CP dated January 25, 2017, citizens from 40 countries are eligible for e-visas under a pilot programme. Over VND 3 trillion tourism complex to be built in Thua Thien-Hue
The provincial People’s Committee has issued a decision on the investment plan of the project, to be built in Vinh Hien and Loc Binh communes, Phu Loc district. The project, with Van Phu Resort-Loc Binh Ltd., Co. as the main investor, is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2023, offering services of international standards. Photo for illustration Thua Thien-Hue, which is home to many UNESCO-recognized tangible and intangible heritages as well as beautiful beaches, aims to attract about 4.7 million visitors in 2019, with 45 percent foreigners, a rise of about 7 percent year on year. The province targets VND 4.9 trillion (USD 210.7 million) in tourism revenue in the year, up 10 percent compared to the previous year.
