Sam Curran had done well for the first-five balls of the final over – defending just two runs – by giving away only a single off the first and eking out the wicket of a well-settled Senuran Muthusamy. But a hobbling Capitals captain Wayne Parnell – who had earlier walked off with a groin injury – pulled through when his team needed to run two off the last ball to clinch the game.
