No element in Bajrang Dal’s content that necessitates ban: Facebook India head

NEW DELHI: Amid an uproar over Facebook not removing a content posted on its site by Bajrang Dal , the social media representatives have informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology that their fact-checking team didn't find the matter inflammatory or offensive and, hence, decided against taking any action. Facebook's team that deposed before the panel on Wednesday was led by its India head Ajith Mohan. The sitting lasted for more than two hours. Sources said IT panel chief Shashi Tharoor, Karti Chidambaram and Syed Naseer Hussain (all Congress MPs) asked FB officials about a news report claiming that Facebook refused to remove Bajrang Dal's post from its platform.
