Another five people in New York have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total to 11. They are the family of a friend of a lawyer who was diagnosed on Tuesday. He has also passed it on to his own relatives and a neighbor. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the new cases, none of whom have been hospitalized, at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon. ‘A friend of the lawyer’s who he spent time with and in close proximity in a number of situations, that person also tested positive. ‘We then tested that person’s wife, two sons and daughter, and they all tested positive,’ he said. The children attend Westchester Torah Academy, a school which Cuomo said had already decided to close until Friday as a precaution. The lawyer gave the virus to his own wife, son, daughter and neighbor. He has also given it to a friend who has now passed it on to his own family, bringing the total number of cases in New York to 11 Now, staff at the school are receiving further guidance on how to handle the outbreak.
