Why do politicians say such stupid things? I was delighted with your analysis (Western Mail, May 6) of Ukip’s Neil Hamilton “no problem with climate change”. Also the letter from Cllr Sian Caiach about “Plaid’s policy on Brexit’’when Plaid’s leader, Adam Price, was asked and gave his own version, different from Plaid’s. These men are from very different backgrounds, their only close connection is they are in politics, both enjoying very good pensions as ex-MPs and continuing with the good incomes trail as AMs. Why do these so-called educated people come out with such ridiculous suggestions and expect to get away with it? I give up! Malcolm Davies Porth Fox and co need to face up to austerity International Trade Secretary Liam Fox shows his total ignorance of international trade in persisting in his blind faith that the UK will reap the rewards of Brexit when we can already see the damage all around us, particularly to the peace process in Northern Ireland.
