A Florida prep school administrator has pleaded guilty to taking entrance exams for students and rigging test scores in exchange for cash to help wealthy parents get their children into elite universities. Mark Riddell pleaded guilty in Boston federal court on Friday to mail fraud and money laundering conspiracy charges for his role in the college admissions bribery scandal. The 36-year-old oversaw college entrance exam preparation at IMG Academy, a Bradenton school founded by renowned tennis coach Nick Bollettieri that bills itself as the world’s largest sports academy. Court documents say Riddell secretly took exams for students or replaced their answers with his own and was typically paid $10,000 per test. Prosecutors described him as ‘just a really smart guy’ when asked how Riddell knew all of the exam answers.
