It’s been a whopping 13 years since Mean Girls came out in 2004, starring Lindsay Lohan as the hapless main character Cady Heron, who grew up in Africa with her parents before returning to the US to try and adapt to the jungle that is North Shore High School.
Not knowing any of the social conventions already in place, Cady tries to navigate her way through the year, trying to make friends, and encountering the ‘Plastics’ along the way.
While Lindsay Lohan still regularly appears in newspapers, here’s what the rest of the cast are up to now…
Daniel Franzese – Damian Leigh

Damian became an iconic character in Mean Girls. Janis’ best friend and social outcast, Damian, played by actor Daniel Franzese was responsible for some of the most memorable lines in the film, including: “Four for you Glen Coco, you GO Glen Coco.”
Daniel continues to act, and has starred in films including War Of The Worlds, as well as TV shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
He also curates art shows, mostly about fame, celebrity and popular culture.
He also got engaged to his partner Joseph Bradley Phillips in 2016.

Lizzy Caplan – Janis Ian
Janis is one of the first people Cady meets at North Shore High School, and with her blunt honesty and telling it like it is attitude certainly makes an impression.
She had a run-in with Regina George and the pair are mortal enemies, after Regina spread a rumour that Janis was a lesbian.
In real life, Lizzy actually dated Matthew Perry (Chandler from Friends) for years, and has secured numerous acting roles since.

She was in Cloverfield, played Virginia Johnson in TV series Masters Of Sex, and also played Sonja in 127 Hours.
She recently this month married British producer Tom Riley.
Amanda Seyfriend – Karen Smith
Karen was one of the ‘Plastics’, known for her ditziness, and most memorably dressed up as a mouse for halloween (“Duh! I’m a mouse!”).

She was actually considered for the roles of Regina and Cady too, before producers decided she’d be perfect for Karen.
Since then she’s barely stopped working.
Amanda Syefried, now 31, has starred in musicals including Mamma Mia! and Les Miserables, and has also acted in films including Red Riding Hood and Dear John.
Lacey Chabert – Gretchen Wieners

Famed mostly within the film for being the daughter of the man who invented the Toaster Strudel, Gretchen Wieners, played by Lacey Chabert, has a hard time up against ‘friend’ Regina.
Lacey, now 34, was already famous at the time of playing Gretchen, who loved using the word ‘fetch’, as she’d starred in Party Of Five.
She went on to voice Eliza Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys, and she’s starred in numerous TV films for the Hallmark channel.
Rachel McAdams – Regina George

The meanest girl of them all, Plastics leader Regina George had serious power over the high school.
The Queen Bee, she had an air of superiority, and is followed everywhere by best friends Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners.
Actress Rachel McAdams has enjoyed a very successful career since the role, playing Allie in The Notebook alongside Ryan Gosling.
She’s since starred in Wedding Crashers with Owen Wilson, The Time Traveller’s Wife, and received an Oscar nomination for her role in 2015’s Spotlight.
