NDO – Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation, Pham Minh Chinh, joined Quang Ninh provincial National Assembly (NA) deputy delegation in meetings with voters in Hoanh Bo district and Quang Yen town on July 6.
Informing local voters on the results of the recently-wrapped up 14th NA’s third session, Chinh said that during the one-month sitting, the NA spent the majority of time discussing and approving 12 laws and resolutions, with renewed and improved contents in line with international practice, continuing to perfect Vietnam’s market economic institutions, legal system and national security, contributing to the protection of sovereignty and security of the country and ensuring social order and safety.
The senior Party official also praised positive contributions of Quang Ninh NA deputy delegation during the session, saying that all members of the delegation contributed their opinions to draft laws and resolutions discussed at the event on important national socio-economic issues. Their contributions were of high quality and highly appreciated by the NA, he added.
The head of the central organisation commission expressed his delight at the positive results that local authorities and people in Hoanh Bo and Quang Yen have made in recent years to gradually improve the local socio-economic situation and security.
Voters in the two localities expressed their pleasure at the success of the last NA session, saying that Project 25 on renewing the mode and improving the Party’s leadership capacity and streamlining apparatus has been deployed synchronously and widely in Quang Ninh with positive results. Voters wished that the NA would continue to review and replicate implementation model of the scheme throughout the country.
They suggested the NA and Government continue to issue policies to assist farmers find output for agricultural, fisheries and livestock products, while paying attention to environmental protection in local industrial zones.
For highland communes, voters proposed strengthening measures to protect forests, interests of disadvantaged participants in health insurance, and dealing with environmental problems due to “hot” economic development that is negatively affecting people’s lives.
In Quang Yen, voters proposed priority allocation of funds to be invested in improving local transport infrastructure and renovate the Ha Nam sea dyke, along with speeding up construction of the Ha Long-Hai Phong Expressway to finish the project in 2017 and upgrading essential infrastructure system in Quang Yen town to create a driving force for sustainable socio-economic development.
Politburo member Chinh acknowledged the practical comments of local voters and directly responded to some of their concerns at the meetings.
For matters under the jurisdiction of the localities, he asked local leaders to soon resolutely resolve them, while affirming that with contents related to the NA’s competence, Quang Ninh’s NA delegation would fully convey voters’ recommendations to the NA for discussion at its next meeting.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), Chinh and local leaders handed over 200 gifts to families of war invalids and martyrs, policy beneficiaries and people of merit in Hoanh Bo and Quang Yen.
