Avondale rockers Halocene have been chosen as finalists in a global YouTube competition called “Best.Cover.Ever,” which premieres Monday, Nov. 20.The series is hosted by Ludacris and executive produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions, with guests Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Jason Derulo, Charlie Puth, Backstreet Boys, Flo Rida, Nicky Jam, DNCE and Bebe Rexha.Halocene will appear on the Dec. 4 episode, battling it out for the chance to perform with Flo Rida.The way the series works is that the visiting artist will challenge competing musicians to perform a cover of one of their original songs.The musicians can perform the song in their own style as they battle for the opportunity to perform a duet with the visiting artist. Viewers will witness every part of the planning and behind-the-scenes process as the collaboration comes together before premiering on YouTube.Together for 10 years, Halocene is a pop-rock group featuring husband and wife Bradley and Addie Nicole Amick with Joseph Polizzi and Sebastian McKelvey.
